Outside School Hours Care is a great support for many busy families. At the Y, we provide education and care for children before and after the school day as well as during the school holidays. So if you’re juggling work, family and other commitments – we can help!
Our Outside School Hours Care services will give your child the chance to experience new things and do more of what they love. They’ll be able to explore the world around them, spend time with friends and grow in confidence. We’ll also work with you to understand your child and help them reach their full potential – because you know your child best.
What Outside School Hours Care services do the Y offer?
Our Outside School Hours Care services include Before School Care, After School Care and School Holiday Programs. Suitable for children aged from five to 12 years old, our programs follow the My Time, Our Place framework for school-age children.
We tailor our out of school hours care to support each child's individual interests and ideas, with a focus on cross-age play. It means you'll have one less thing to worry about and your child will have so much fun, they’ll want to come again tomorrow!
Many of our programs take place in local primary schools, community centres or recreation centres across Victoria, so that your child can grow and learn in a fun, friendly and familiar environment.
We also run a High Intensity Outside School Hours Care Initiative based at Kangaroo Flats in Bendigo, which enables children with disabilities to access quality Outside School Hours Care for free.

Before and After School Care School Holiday ProgramsWe provide activities your child will love
Our friendly and experienced Educators deliver a mix of enjoyable activities to spark your child's interest, build their independence and give them the chance to socialise with children of different ages. They won't be able to wait to tell you what they got up to!
Some of our out of school care activities include:

- board games and puzzles;
- cooking and baking;
- drama, singing and dancing;
- gardening and recycling;
- homework and reading time;
- sports, ball games and team games;
- themed incursions and exciting excursions.
