About the centre
We offer early learning programs for children between six weeks to five years old. We support, nurture and encourage your child’s development through early education and evidence-informed practice that emphasises discovery and adventure.
Point Cook YMCA Early Learning Centre is co-located with Point Cook College in Point Cook, Victoria. This planned co-location enables us to support your child to feel prepared for and familiar with the next step of their schooling journey. If you have children at both Point Cook YMCA Early Learning Centre and Point Cook College, our location offers a single drop-off and pick-up point and convenient onsite parking.
Our programs
YMCA Children’s Programs offers early learning programs for children between six weeks to five years old. We support, nurture and encourage your child’s development through early education and evidence-informed practice that emphasises discovery and adventure.
We take a holistic approach to early learning – creating engaging, fun and educational experiences. Our purpose is to ensure your child thrives by building connections and confidence so that they are prepared for school.
At Point Cook YMCA Early Learning Centre we offer:
Long Day Care
- Childcare for six weeks to five year olds.
Integrated Kindergarten
- Kindergarten integrated into long day care. Programs offered: 3-year-old kinder and 4-year-old kinder.
Co-located programs
The Y also offers the following services at the same location:
- Point Cook College YMCA Before and After School Program
- Point Cook YMCA School Holiday Program
- Facility hire
with the following services nearby:
- Featherbrook College YMCA Before and After School Program
- Featherbrook College YMCA School Holiday Program (Point Cook South)
This purposeful and convenient co-location allows us to create community partnerships with the primary school and surrounds. As well as providing a smooth transition to school for children, it provides a sense of belonging through community events and connections.
Features and amenities
Point Cook YMCA Early Learning Centre was purpose-built with safety, indoor/outdoor play and inclusivity (all abilities) at the forefront of the design process. We offer a great range of facilities.
We provide your child everything they need to play, learn and thrive throughout their day, including:
- nappies;
- bed linen laundered daily;
- sunscreen for outdoor play activities;
- toys and educational resources and
- healthy meals and snacks prepared on-site daily by our qualified cook.
Childcare session lengths
To ensure our families are able to optimise their subsidies based on their personal circumstances, different session lengths are available:
- nine hour session
- 10 hour session
- 11 hour session
- all day session (full opening hours of our centre).
Our centre manager will be available to sit down with you to work out what is best for your family.
Safeguarding and quality standards
At the Y, our highest priority is the safety and wellbeing of your child. We are an accredited child-safe organisation with safeguarding and quality standards embedded across all our services.
Child safety remains our highest priority during the coronavirus (COVID-19) period. Our services have implemented a range of additional hygiene measures to ensure the health and safety of children, families and staff. Learn more about these measures on our COVID-19 updates page.

Prices and subsidies
To support our families, we offer two types of bookings:
- permanent bookings
- casual bookings

These costs come into effect on Monday 03 January 2022.

Payments are accepted by direct debit and processed according to our debit calendar. Prices may be reduced if you are eligible for the Child Care Subsidy.

Bookings and enrolments
Enrolments and bookings are managed through an online system called My Family Lounge.
